Campfires seem to awaken our most primal memories of connection and community, reaching back through countless generations who gathered in circles of warmth and light.
Recently, I found myself among a group of people, seated around a crackling fire. Two artists shared their newest songs - one about love, the other about heartbreak. "There's something for everyone," one said with a gentle smile, "depending on what you're currently going through." As knowing glances were exchanged across the flames, something beautiful happened. We were participants in a shared experience that transcended our individual stories of joy or suffering.
This made me reflect on a question I frequently hear from entrepreneurs: "Would I be considered successful?" I understand intimately where this comes from, having spent many years seeking validation from others. Now, when I hear this question, I gently redirect: "Are you enjoying the pursuit of creating value?" We're all on our own paths, best walked in the warm light of community, under vast stars that remind us how small and yet how connected we all are.
